COAA AGU Dinner Party 2013

COAA and the atmospheric alumni of Peking University will co-organize a banquet dinner party during the AGU Fall Meeting in San Francisco. The dinner party is intended to foster friendship, communication and networking among the fellow Chinese professionals attending the conference and to celebrate for those who are honored in the AGU:

Prof. Kuo-Nan Liou (UCLA), Roger Revelle Medal, AGU Union Award
Prof. Ping Yang (TAMU), AGU Atmospheric Section Award
New Fellows:
Prof. Zhisheng An, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Member of the CAS)
Prof. Bin Wang, U. Hawaii
Dr. Ruby Leung, PNNL

We are proud to have two distinguished COAA members, Dr. William Lau (NASA/GSFC) and Rong Fu (UT Austin) serving as the chairs of AGU's Atmospheric Science Section and Global Change Section, both being endorsed by COAA. I am sure that many COAA members cast votes for their elections. We shall continue to encourage and support our members to play leadership roles in such important organizations as AGU and AMS. Note a separate call was circulated earlier in support of Dr. Ruby Leung to become an AMS councilor.

It is also worth noting that several COAA members just received a team award, the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal, led by Dr. Jonathan Jiang of JPL with the following Chinese team members: Dr. Hui Su, Dr. Chengxing Zhai, Dr. Janice Shen.

Congratulations to all the award recipients and new AGU fellows! With gratitude and honor, COAA cordially invites its members and friends to join the AGU dinner party. COAA and Peking University will subsidize the cost. Please sign up in the website (doodle.com) through the link:!http://www.doodle.com/hin5fbxnruttdua5
